In THE GUTTER, when the often-fired Walt (Shameik Moore) lands a job as a barman and shoemaker at his local AlleyCatz bowling alley, he feels like he’s finally found a home. When money troubles threaten AlleyCatz, Walt is pressured by former pro and current drinking champion Skunk (D’Arcy Carden) to embrace his role as the greatest bowler ever to walk the earth. While Walt’s love of big checks and in-your-face style of play dominates the professional tour, his opponents, including ratings-obsessed news anchor Angelo Powers and newly retired bowling legend Linda “The Smasher” Curson (Susan Sarandon), fiercely try to extinguish Walt’s flame before it burns too brightly.
