After the encounter with the Orcs, Helm’s flowing hair is animated behind his ear
A sudden attack by Wulf, a cunning and treacherous Rohan lord seeking vengeance for his father’s death, forces Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan, and his people to make a daring last stand at the ancient fortress of Hornburg. Miranda Otto reprises her role as Éowyn from Sir Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” series as the film’s narrator. Warner Brothers Animation briefly appears with Japanese kanji, paying homage to the film’s anime style.

A film as mixed as its animation
There is some care in the story and a couple of fantastic moments (both featuring Helm Hammerhand), as well as the animated backgrounds are incredible. But the character art is awful, especially when the characters are moving, and the story doesn’t make much logical sense. It’s especially marred by characters who are superheroes (Elmo punching a giant and knocking off his horn, or characters jumping off battlements like it’s nothing) and unchecked feminism.
That’s unrealistic and doesn’t make for a compelling character
Yes, women wanted to get married in the Middle Ages, even if they were warriors. No, a woman doesn’t have the upper body strength of a man. No, a woman doesn’t need to be the best at everything and perfect in every way to empower women.
And that’s not misogyny, that’s reality
There’s a good story here, if I followed the book as closely as possible. As it stands, all the changes they’ve made are either illogical, break with tradition, or are unnecessary. This will please superficial fans of the franchise and alienate both true fans and casual viewers.
