Nondescript Character: Where do you practice your religion?
Line of Events
After being released from prison after 25 years, New York mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. Dwight “The General” Manfredi: I really don’t go to church.
Featured in CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #457 (2022)
The opening credits sequence shows various photographic and painted views and landmarks of Oklahoma imposed on the New York City landscape: A statue of Sioux Indian chief “Touch the Clouds” wearing a war bonnet and a bone choker (breastplate) imposed on top of the Brooklyn Bridge The Golden Driller statue imposed on the Statue of Liberty Route 66 Western Gateway Arch imposed on a major “avenue” in Manhattan. In New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, there are several numbered “avenues” that are intersected by smaller numbered streets. I don’t think any other actor could have played this role.
His supporting cast is anonymous, I didn’t recognize any of the other actors
Sly is bigger than the small screen and he gave the best lines in this series. I’ve only seen the first episode on YT, I don’t have Paramount, but if there were more that came out on YT I would definitely watch them. And filming in Tulsa gives the series a “flavor” compared to filming on a Hollywood backlot.
Age suits him
I think Stallone hit his peak with the Creed movies and this TV series. Glad he’s away from those action movies, which I think he’s outgrown. It’s the right fit for him.
