Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are Earth’s only hope in the face of an alien invasion threat. The first Looney Tunes film released in theaters that was not distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film was originally intended to be an exclusive streaming release on the streaming service Max. After the company dropped it, the film was sent to other distributors, and GFM Animation eventually acquired the worldwide distribution rights and changed the film to a theatrical release. Inside the meteorite, as Daffy demonstrates his talent with levers, he pulls the lever to lower the machine and pushes it to rise again. Porky does the same later in the scene. But with Porky and Petunia strapped in, Daffy pushes the lever forward and the machine continues to lower them. At the end of the credits, Porky Pig makes his classic statement, “That’s it, people!” only to be interrupted by Daffy Duck, who tells him that the movie is not over and that they need a sequel. I liked the expressiveness of the characters and the fluidity of the animation. However, some parts seemed a bit boring and disjointed. Since this is a movie aimed at children (like most Warner Brothers movies I know), I’m sure they’ll like it. Children were clearly the main target, so good luck to them. For parents, teenagers, or just adults in general – not necessarily. There were too many moments that dripped with embarrassment, patterns repeated over and over, and other scenes that just seemed annoying or predictable. The only moment that caught me off guard was the main “antagonist,” although even that seemed more random than funny. Again, it’s a kids’ movie, but some kids around the age of 10 may not find it funny. Of course, it’s all a matter of taste, but I like it when animated movies give backstory to their villains or motivations that make me care. It would have been better if the characters pursued their goals with more heart, instead of trying (and failing) to be comedic. There was a balance that could have been achieved, but it was clearly lacking in this movie.
